After launching a revised version of their towrope earlier this year, Kids Ride Shotgun is now launching a new version of their popular Shotgun mountain bike seat.
This is very good news for mountain biking families who want to get their little ones involved.
The MTB front seat is designed for children between 18 months and 5 years old (up to 27 kg).
The Shotgun 2.0 is the ultimate upgrade to the tried and tested, frame mounted, Shotgun MTB seat.
How does the Shotgun 2.0 child bike seat differ from the original Shotgun seat
The Shotgun 2.0 seat is an updated version of the original Shotgun seat - the major upgrades are:
- Quick release fitting. After initial set up you can put the seat on, or take it off, in about 15 seconds.
- Two footpeg positions. The seat now "grows with your child". The upper position is 3 cm higher than the original Shotgun seat, and the lower is 1 cm lower.
- Other small differences are upgraded materials across the board, saddle from the pro seat, thicker and more surface area rubber protection.
Because of the two footpeg positions, the Shotgun 2.0 can seat shorter and taller kids than the original, so will last longer. It also has a slightly higher weight limit than the original.
The Shotgun 2.0 handlebars are similar to the original. They're Allen key fixing but they've updated the grips to pro bar grips (19mm for little hands).
The new Shotgun 2.0 bike seat will give even more fun on the trails.
The new Kids Ride Shotgun 2.0 bike seat is priced at £130 or can be purchased together with the handlebars for £155.
The handlebars are also available to buy separately for £35.
