Black Friday is a great time to get a cheap balance bike for your toddler – especially if you’re wanting to get them one for their Christmas present. In this post we’ll be taking a look at some great bargains on balance bikes available in the run up to Black Friday so you can find the Christmas present.
We’d recommend buying early to avoid disappointment, as stock is quite limited this year.
Black Friday is on Friday 27th November 2020. Some discounts are already starting, and we’d expect others to released either a few days before, at midnight on the Friday, or late on the Thursday afternoon. The sales will last until Cyber Monday (30th November 2020) but remember once the balance bikes have been sold, that’s it, so buy early to avoid disappointment!
What is a balance bike – and should I buy one for my toddler this Black Friday?
A balance bike is a tiny little two wheeled bike without pedals, which allows your toddler to scoot along. It really helps them learn to balance, and makes the transition to a pedal bike so much easier. They’re usually cheaper and much lighter than a pedal bike, and a lot more fun for very young children.
We highly recommend that a balance bike is the way all kids learn to ride, rather than traditional stablisers and a heavy, steel framed pedal bike.

Cheap Balance Bikes – Black Friday 2020
We’re updating the various Black Friday balance bike deals as they start to become available. Here’s our pick of the best offers:
50% off your first 3 months balance bike rental at The Bike Club – prices start from £2.50 per month
If you’ve not yet heard about The Bike Club, now is a good time to take a moment and learn about their scheme, as you’re obviously at the start of the journey of trying to keep a growing child kitted out with a bike that fits them!
With the Bike Club you pay a monthly subscription in return for a long term lease of one of their new or used kids bike. When your child outgrows it you just send the bike back and upgrade to the next size.
They only stock great quality, lightweight bikes (as they need them to last lots of children), so you have peace of mind that you’re always going to have a decent, reliable bike for your child.
The Bike Club are quickly becoming really popular for a number of reasons:
- It removes the need for an upfront investment in a bike
- You don’t have to worry about buying a bike for your child to “grow into”
- It’s more environmentally friendly and hassle free than having to keep on buying new bikes
Do note that if you return your bike within 18 months there is a small collection fee to pay – if you keep the bike for 18 months then there’s nothing to pay to return it. There are also options to buy the bike at the end of the lease period if you need it for a younger sibling.
The Bike Club have just taken stock of some brand new Strider balance bikes, and also have new Squish balance bikes available at £2.50 for the first 3 months, and then £5.00 per month. Also in their fleet are Frog Tadpoles (in all sizes) and Islabike Rothan’s – although these are both low in stock at the moment.
BLACK FRIDAY DEAL: The Bike Club are currently offering 50% off the first three months rental, bringing the cost of a balance bike down to between £2.50 and £3.85 per month, depending on which model you choose, and whether you go new or used.
