Kidical Mass global action and Safe Streets Now April 2024
Have you heard about Kidical Mass? It's a global movement to allow children and young people to be able to safely and independently travel by cycle wherever they live.
A so-called "Kidical Mass" is a group cycle ride where people take over the streets to celebrate cycling and call for safer streets.
After several very successful global action weekends and weeks in 2022 and 2023, the next global action is taking place from 20 April until 26 May 2024.
The action weekends have expanded into a whole month and are not just limited to Kidical Mass group cycle rides, but also included Bike Buses and Play Streets.
Last year, 900 actions took place all over the world, with 230,000 people taking part, demanding safer streets for people of all ages.

Kidical Mass is massive!
The Kidical Mass movement has seen significant growth in the UK over the past few years, showing that families want to cycle but often don't feel safe to do so.
At the time of writing, there are over 40 groups actively organising Kidical Mass rides in the UK.
With a little help from existing groups, new groups have started and the handy 'how to set up a Kidical Mass' article is often referred to.

Safe Streets Now
Safe Streets Now is a grassroots coalition of community groups across the UK, backed by national road safety organisations.
Kidical Mass groups across the country have teamed up with the Safe Streets Now coalition to organise Kidical Mass rides as part of the Safe Streets Now national day of action on 20 April 2024.

Join a ride
We highly recommend you join a Kidical Mass ride near you on Sat 20 April. It's great fun, and the best way to show politicians and others that we want child-friendly cities and towns.
If you're thinking of setting up a Kidical Mass ride in your own town, this is a great time to get started!
And don't forget a bubble machine 😉
