Boxing Day Sales – kids bikes and accessories
If you're looking to pick up a bargain kids bike in the Boxing Day sales you've come to the right place!
We're taking a look at all the places that have discounted kids bikes - but proper bikes - not just really awful cheap ones with plastic tyres and brakes that don't work.
You want a bargain bike, that can be ridden and enjoyed - not something that's going to end up in the bin!
We have managed to track down some kids bikes with discounts in these Boxing Day Sales, but do always take prices and discounts with a pinch of salt - it's only a good deal if it's the bike you really want!
All the offers listed are dependent on there being stock of kids bikes available. Remember, once it's gone, it's gone!
Is a Boxing Day deal on a kids bike worth the money?
At Cycle Sprog we only ever recommend "proper" kids bikes. These will be safe for your child to ride, and are built to last them for as long as they still fit the bike.
You will probably see some really cheap kids bikes being discounted during the Boxing Day sales, but please be wary.
You don't want tears when you take the bike out for a ride and find it's easily broken, or that it's much too heavy for your child to ride. Or that they can't make the brakes (the worst of all the outcomes).
If you think I'm exaggerating take a quick look at this article on why you shouldn't by a really cheap kids bike.
We do have another article with a list of the value (i.e cheaper) brands of kids bikes we recommend all year round - it's worth a look if you can't find what you want on this page.
We always recommend spending your money on a decent second hand kids bike, than a very poor quality new one.
Boxing Day sales on kids bikes - 2021
Here's our pick of the best kids bikes available in the Boxing Day sales
offer ends 29th December 2021
Decathlon have a real mix of kids bikes, so do be careful about what you're buying. Some are really great quality, good value bikes, and others tend to be very heavy, especially for smaller children to ride. Take a look at the reviews before you buy to check which camp the particular bike you're looking at falls into.
They also do a great range of kids accessories such as helmets, and their thermals are firm favourites of ours for using on winter bike rides.
Lease, don't buy, to save the most money today!
The Bike Club is a brilliant way to get a quality kids bike without the upfront costs. You simply lease a bike for your child for a low monthly cost, and when they outgrow it you send the bike bike and exchange for the next size up.
They've also got a great offer on, which runs through until January. They're giving the first month's subscription FREE, plus you don't pay anything for the bike to be delivered to you!
It saves the hassle of ownership, and you're guaranteed to get a great bike, as they only stock quality kids bike brands that we've reviewed and recommended here at Cycle Sprog. This includes Forme, Frog, Squish, woom and Islabikes.
With prices starting as low as £4.99 per month for a balance bike, it's an affordable way of having year round cycling fun.

10% off everything at Halfords
Offer ends Boxing Day
A proper Boxing Day sale this one - only valid until the end of Boxing Day (i.e. 23:59 on 26th December 2021) - Halfords are giving 10% off everything in their cycling section.
Do be careful, as Halfords have a mix of qualities. We'd recommend getting a secondhand lighter bike over some of their really heavy cheaper bikes. Here's a link to those brands they sell which are better quality.
Sale on kids bikes and family cycling equipment at Evans Cycles
Loads of discounts from trailer to t-shirts
Evans Cycles have got so much reduced at the moment - from expensive trailers (where you can save £200) through to smaller items of clothing where discounts can be well over 50% of the original price.
Obviously once these have gone, they've gone, and stock is limited.
One thing to note is that Evans Cycles is now part of Mike Ashley's empire. It's been been having some issues with customer service over the past year. It seems if things go OK, all is well, but could be stressful if something goes wrong with your order. Check out their Trust Pilot scores to see how they're doing at the moment.
Also - be aware they sell some great brands of kids bikes - such as Hoy and Pinnacle, and some rather cheap, heavy kids bikes. Do be careful, as you're probably off buying a second hand lighter bike than a really heavy one.
