The Trek Marlin 4 Gen 3 is a good value 27.5 inch hardtail (front suspension only) mountain bike designed for teenagers and smaller adults looking to explore off-road riding.
Available in XS and Small frame sizes, it combines a lightweight Alpha Silver Aluminium frame with front suspension, simple 8-speed gearing and hydraulic disc brakes for confident riding on trails, woodland paths and everyday journeys.
A single chainring at the front makes changing gear straightforward for riders developing their skills, while the hydraulic disc brakes give controlled stopping in wet and dry conditions.
Wide 2.40 inch tyres provide grip on loose and mixed surfaces.
Mounts for a rack and kickstand also make it a practical choice for riding to school and everyday cycling.
Choose the frame size using your child’s height and inside leg measurement rather than their age alone.
