The Ridgeback Scoot XL is a 14″ balance bike designed for slightly bigger toddlers, typically aged 3 – 4 and standing around 100 – 110cm tall, making it a natural next step up from a smaller balance bike or a great first bike for taller little ones.
The lightweight 6061 aluminum frame keeps things manageable for young riders, while the low standover height means mounting and dismounting stays easy even as children grow in confidence.
The saddle and handlebars are both adjustable, so the bike can be tweaked as your child gains height and ability, giving it a bit of extra longevity compared to a fixed-size balance bike. Grip tape and a padded saddle are Ridgeback’s own, keeping contact points comfortable for little hands and small bottoms alike, and the chunky tyres offer plenty of grip and stability across grass, pavement and park paths.
Unusually for a balance bike, the Scoot XL comes fitted with an alloy rear V-brake, operated through a composite 2-finger lever with tool-free reach adjustment, giving children the chance to get used to braking before they move on to a pedal bike.
