The Islabikes Imagine 20 gets its first TV outing
Regular Cycle Sprog readers will know that we've been following with interest the efforts of Islabikes founder Isla Rowntree to create a new type of kids bike and change the way society things about manufacturing, waste and ownership.
Just before Christmas we shared with you the first pictures of the Islabikes Image 20 - the prototype coming out of the Imagine Project. The aim of the Imagine Project is to create a kids bike using the principles of the circular economy. This includes the use recycled materials, reducing waste and moving from a "throw away" culture to one where the manufacturer is responsible for the longevity and ultimate disposal of their product.
The Islabikes Image 20 prototype is now being tested by one lucky young lad - Tomas Barker.
In this BBC interview you can see Thomas Barker riding the bike, along with some footage of the bike, and the reasons Isla Rowntree is creating it.
We'll bring you more information as we get it about the progress of the Image Project.
