Frog kids track bike range launched within competition to win training session with Joanna Rowsell
Children’s bike manufacturers Frog Bikes have recently added to their range, with three sizes of track bike. Initially available in green, the Frog kids track bike is aimed specifically at the growing number of children who have been inspired since the 2012 Olympics to get involved in their local cycling club.
The Frog track bike comes in three sizes 58,(20″ wheel), 67 (24″ wheel) and 70 (26″ wheel), and are designed for riders aged between 6 and 14 years of age (dependent on their height). Prices range from £270 to £300.
The flip-flop hubs mean they can be used as fixed or free-wheels, and they can also be used on grass-track tyres.
The Frog kids track bikes are designed to meet the British Cycling gear restrictions for kids’ track bikes, which are in place to reduce the risk of over-use injuries, avoid strength imbalances in young riders, and ensure all riders compete on an equal footing. Frog Bikes say have taken a conservative view of the age of riders, and for their track bike sizes the standard gear ratios give a shorter roll-out than British Cycling standards allow. Further details of the gear ratios are available on the Frog website.
To mark the launch of their new track bike, Frog Bikes are running a competition for five lucky club riders aged between 9 and 13 years of age to win a 2 hour training session with Olympic Gold Medallist and 5 times World Champion Joanna Rowsell, on Saturday 15th August at the National Cycling Velodrome in Manchester.
